Day #2 - Welcome to Albania! -Geoffrey

Day #2 – Welcome to Albania! – Geoffrey

We’ve arrived! We were supposed to only have a 30 minute layover this morning when we landed in Munich, Germany, but thankfully we landed about a half hour early. So, we hopped on the plane from Munich to Tirana. Munich was a nice 60something degrees. Tirana…not so much. I would guess it is in the mid 90’s, with at least 75% humidity. Its warm to say the least. We checked in to the hotel, at lunch, and then took a little nap. After our glorious nap, we got to go on a tour of the city we will be ministering at for the next 10 days.

Tirana is an interesting city. If you watch the slideshow you will see a lot of pictures of nice buildings, nice roadways, and nice cars. Yet, you can also see the lack of monetary wealth in the city. There are so many buildings that were built only half way, and then quit. It is a little surreal to see so many empty half-built giant buildings.

We got to walk  for about an hour till we went to this restaurant that sits high above the city. There we drank some much needed water, and looked at the scenery in Tirana. We left there, and happened to run into a Route 66 restaurant. We grabbed some hamburgers, and then came back to the hotel for some much needed rest.

We appreciate your prayers for continued favor among the people in Tirana. Please pray for God to throw open wide doors for our students to share the love of Jesus with people.
